This place used to be frequented by artists like Picasso, Van Gogh, and Monet. The outside is really cute, and it's in a very cute area, but the indoor ambiance was a little bland. The servers were super nice, and the food was good, especially the tortellini.

What can one say about Le Consulat that hasn't been said before? We stopped here for midday snacks & wine and had a great time watching some street musicians who were actually talented. A must-stop when in Montmartre.

Oui oui oui! This was the hang out of Picasso, Toulouse Lautrec n more aristocrats. For those who don't know Henri Toulouse-Lautrec was a French artist, synonymous with the image of an absinthe-soaked, bohemian 19th century Paris. A nightlife-loving aristocrat, he was a VIP at the Moulin Rouge n the novel n. movie was inspired by his life as a bon vivant. There were more ads on Instagram on Maison Rose than Le Consulat so we went to Maison Rose, the nasty server yelled at us so we left n came here, lucky us, this wonderful restaurant had such vibes I felt so welcome n relaxed. We ordered a soupe à l'oignon (onion soup) 12euros, so good escargots looked so cute! They were good too, we had ice cream with an amazing home made Chantilly (whipped cream) the dude sitting next to me had a steak I wanted it so bad but my husband said to save my hunger to eat at la crémaillère which turned out to be no longer good I wrote a review. The service was impeccable, leConsulat is an iconic restaurant in the heart of Montmartre n it's not to be missed.

We stopped there on a break while exploring the neighborhood. Great location and a great place to people watch. Could sit there for hours and just watch all the people walk by in the area. I had an americano coffee which was probably the best one I had in Europe. It was a little expensive but it also had a fabulous taste. Just be aware it can get very crowded as it is a popular tourist spot.

Well the location is #1. I ordered my fav dishes here well becuz i'm in Paris and I absolutely love the Montmartre neighborhood. Ooh la la. escargot was ok - could have had more sauce french onion soup was watery - is it supposed to be like this in France? watery? I have had better french onion soup in America. bread was decent water was delicious. I wanted to have bubbly but they didn't have Prosecco. I know I know I'm in France I'm supposed to order champagne but didn't feel like having French bubbly at the time ‍. Staff was superb and fantastic Minus the 1 star for the sad food.
